Away from Home on My First Holiday Tour

To be with your family at home is great. To be with your family on a tour feels ultimate. For the first time in my life, I experienced what holidaying on a distant land feels like. For the first time, I rode in the car up a mountain. And yes, it was p'awesome.

If you would like to read the post on my pet stay in Chennai the last time family went on tour, check this post

On the car, happily settled and looking forward to vacationing....

Oh, how happy I am...
Then I had a small but important doubt...
Did you pack my snacks?
It was interesting to keep looking in all directions.
It is sad that trees don't have holidays...
Then, it was sleep time for me. I got up too early this morning as I was worried the family would leave me behind at home. But no, they kept their word.
No clicks please...lemme get some shut-eye
Suddenly I woke up...I had to pee...I whined softly. Dad stopped the car at the nearest possible place. Mom took me out.
Hope no one thinks I have come all the way to pee here
Back in the car to get going. The car again stopped in a while and the family said we had to pay toll.
Are they charging also for the pee I did?
I looked out for a while. The family was looking for some restaurant.
Hope the hotel is also pet friendly
It was not. I had my idlis in the car while the family took turns to eat inside the restaurant.

Soon it was again sleep time for me. Mom tried to take a pic that would match the first pic she took of me on our way to My New Home
Oh, is that me really!!!
Mom did not get it right. She kept trying..
Nooooo! This is not good
Mom can be adamant at times. I tried to sleep nevertheless.
Hope for my sake she gets it right
She didn't. And I thought I had enough of it.
Hope her mobile goes out of charge
Big B got down the car to buy some snacks. I was eagerly waiting for him.
Anything for me Big B, it just got to be crunchy and yummy....
Just few minutes later I started feeling strange. I got up on the seat and leaned against the back of the seat to balance myself. The family thought I got uncomfortable sensing that we were driving uphill. So Big B came to the back seat to offer additional comfort.
Can I walk up the mountain please...
Soon I felt good, looked around for a while and finally settled down resting my head on Big B's lap. After a while and a few hairpin bends, we reached our destination. The name is Yelagiri Villa.
Really happy this is not an apartment
I instantly loved the place. There were many trees and plants and many creatures moving around. It was fun to watch them.
So many things to sniff at...
We entered the villa. It was very nice. There was a swing in the living area. Dad and mom used to say stories about swings that I have already heard a dozen times.
Promise me no more swing stories...
I kept moving from one room to another.
Can we open the windows?
Perfect place for my food bowl
A beautiful night...
Great scents...
The next morning we set out much later than our usual timing...still, I loved every bit of it and was super excited to explore the new place.
Is the mountain as near as it seems?
The villa we stayed at is close to Yelagiri Lake. So, we walked towards it.
A new path...new experience and I am in no hurry
Unlike the beach, these waters are calm
Once back in the villa, I was happy to settle down and engage myself listening to the sounds and looking around the lush greenery.
Feeling quite at home...
Again in the evening, I spent time watching some small creatures moving around.
Why roosters aren't leashed?
Two days went by real fast. Holiday was over and we had to return.
Sure we are not extending our holidays guys?
The family assured we will return soon.
Goodbye Yelagiri Villa
What did mom learn?

To put it briefly, I learnt how to travel with pets in India. There will be a separate post soon on tips to travel with pets.

Mom's Note:
Chezhi loved her homestay away from home. This place is not only beautiful but also is pet friendly. It was so green all around with birds chirping in the mornings that made Chezhi very excited and she loved exploring the garden.

A separate post follows with detailed information on this pet friendly villa in Yelagiri. Stay tuned please.
