According to a study, pineapple could prevent recurring ear infections in dogs. In the said study, dogs involved were divided into two groups. Group A was given fish, fish products, pineapple stalk and ginseng dry extract. Group B, the control group, was given regular diet. During the 60-day test period, tests were conducted every 15 days. At the end of the 60th day, it was confirmed that recurring ear infection could be prevented by following the diet given to Group A. The study is preliminary and though there is a long way to go, it still stands proof of the efficacy of pineapple in preventing ear infection in dogs.
